Do I need embroidery experience?

Not at all. Our kits are designed to be approachable for beginners while still offering an enjoyable creative experience for more experienced makers. Each kit includes step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process.

Is this traditional Sashiko embroidery?

Our designs are inspired by traditional Japanese Sashiko techniques and patterns, reinterpreted through a contemporary creative format. Rather than stitching onto fabric, Needlework Studio kits invite you to stitch directly onto the notebook cover, first preparing the stitching points with the paper template included in the kit.

What is included in the kit?

Each kit includes a notebook, embroidery threads, needle, awl, paper pattern template and a step-by-step guide with everything you need to complete your project.

Do I stitch directly onto the notebook?

Yes. That’s what makes our kits different. You’ll prepare the notebook cover using the paper pattern template provided, punch the stitching points, and then stitch directly through the cover, transforming it into your own embroidered piece.

How long does a project take?

The time required varies depending on the pattern and your stitching pace. Each design includes an estimated completion time and difficulty level so you can choose the project that suits you best.

Sashiko is also about enjoying the rhythm of the process — there’s no need to rush.

Can I reuse the tools included in the kit?

Yes. Tools such as the needle and awl can be kept and reused for future embroidery and paper-stitching projects.

Can I choose a different pattern?

Available patterns and designs are shown in each listing. You’ll be able to select your preferred design before adding the kit to your basket.

Are the kits suitable as gifts?

Do you ship internationally?

My order arrived damaged or incomplete. What should I do?

Please contact us through Etsy or Amazon and include photographs of the item and packaging. We’ll review the issue and help find the best solution.
